Automobile Brake - Types, Working and Market Analysis.

Automobile Brake used to slow down a automobile speed and used to stop Automobile, by converting its kinetic energy into heat energy. The hydraulic brake is basically used commonly in automobiles which has six main stages. The Brake Pedal, the brake boost(Vacuum servo), the master cylinder, the apportioning valves and finally the road wheel brake themselves.
The automobile brakes are categorized into different types such as Friction brake, Electromagnetic brake, Air Brake, Anti lock braking system, Electronic parking brake, Hand brake, Hydraulic brake, Regenerative brake, Vacuum brake etc.
Some of them are explained as follows,
Friction Brake: It is a type of automotive brakes which convert kinetic energy into heat energy via friction. A heat energy is then dissolved in to the atmosphere. In most systems the brakes acts on the vehicle's road wheel hubs, but some use brakes which acts on the axles or transmission. Friction brakes are derived into two categories as, Drum brake and Disk Brake.

  • Drum Brake: It is one of the type of friction brake, in which the friction is generated by a set of brake shoes which press against the inner surface of rotating drum.

  • Disk Brake: It is another type of friction brake, in which a brake disc usually made up of cast iron or ceramic is used and it is connected to the wheel. For slow down automobile speed a friction material in the form of brake pads are used and it  forced mechanically, or hydraulically, or pneumatically or electromagnetically against the both sides of disk which helps to stop automobile immediately or slow down speed.
Electromagnetic Brake: This types of brakes used the electromagnetic induction which creates resistance and in turn apply pressures on two separate objects to slow down vehicle in controlled way.
Air Brake: This is one of the type of friction brakes where air pressure is applied on the piston and it is used to apply pressure on a brake pad to stop vehicles. This types of brakes are mostly used in trucks, buses, trailers, trains etc. In this type of brake system air is not serves as a fluid for transmission of force, but also stores potential energy. hence it can serve to control the force applied. It includes an air tank which stores sufficient energy to stop the the vehicle if compressor fails.
Anti lock braking system(ABS): An ABS is latest automobile safety system allows wheels on vehicle to keep tractive contact with road surface according to drivers input while braking, which prevent the wheels from locking up and avoiding uncontrolled skidding. This system generally offers vehicle control and reduces stopping distance on slippery and dry surfaces.
Vacuum Brake: This types of brakes introduced in mid 1860's which used in trains. it was majorly used in countries which was used in countries influenced by British Practices and now its not used but replaced by the compressed air brakes which known as Air brakes in these days.

There are much types and technologies are emerging in this sector and many automobile companies are involved in the research and development of this brake system. Hence, the market has an demand with these various types of brake systems and various technologies.

Market for Automobile brake: As per the customers safety and increase in usage of high power vehicles the automobile brake market has tremendous growth  in various types of brakes with latest technologies. The Customers for automobile are now aware of safety for the vehicles so the demand for brake system is in its ascending order and increasing rapidly.
The Countries like China, U.S., and Japan are capture the largest consumer of automobile brake system. The counties like India and regions like Asia - Pacific and Europe has large numbers of Buyers for automobile hence the market for different types of automobile is increasing faster and still to grow. As the demand for automobile is increasing hence there is simultaneous growth in automobile brake system market and its also booming in the upcoming years with a good compound annual growth rate CAGR in various parts of the world.
